Model

Various model construction functions such as trim, offset, thickness, reinforcement thickness, and lattice structure are performed at once in the model with the design curve.

Model

1

Select Mesh Model

1. Select Mesh Model

Select the target mesh model.
Create an orthosis model of the various structure in the selected model.

2

Select Target Face

2. Select Target Face

Select target face(s) or reset selection(s).
Unselected faces are automatically trimmed and removed.
The selected area turns white color.

Thickness: Select the faces to create a default thickness area. The selected area turns green color.
Area Thickness: Select the faces to create a reinforcement thickness area. The selected area turns orange color.
Lattice: Select the faces to create a lattice structure. The selected area turns white color.
Unselect: Select the faces to cancel from the selected faces.

Reset:  Cancels the select face execution.
To run it again, you have to run the select face again.

The trim operation in the model function does not automatically re-mesh after trimming, so the trimmed edge may be uneven and occur a dimple or a spark.
It is recommended to run Remesh and Smooth before creating a thickness model directly from an untrimmed scan model.

 - Run model menu after curve design                    - Run model menu after execute Remesh and Smooth after curve design

Set Thickness Value

3. Set Thickness Value

Thickness: Define thickness value of the face(s) selected with ‘Thickness'.
Thickness defines default thickness of the orthosis.

Using the Offset menu in Edit Mesh, first offset the distance gap between the skin and the orthosis model in the target model.

4

Set Area Thickness Value

4. Set Area Thickness Value

Define thickness value of the face(s) selected with 'Area Thickness'.
. You can define the 2 area thickness to make a strength reinforcement or support force of the orthosis.

5

Set Lattice Diameter Value

5. Set Lattice Diameter Value

The lattice structure is an Octagonal section structure.

Enter the circumscribed circle diameter of the lattice structure.
The value should be less than 100% of Thickness value.

Enter a lattice length to define the size of the space between lattices.
Lattice size is recommended to be 2 to 3 times of the lattice Dimeter.
Too small lattice size creates a dense lattice structure. And if it is too large, normal surface geometry may not be created.
For adults, the lattice size should be set to 6 or less in areas with small curvature, such as fingers, regardless of the lattice diameter.

6

Smooth

6. Smooth

Make a smooth out sharp edge.

When Area Thickness is defined, it is recommended to check Smooth before ‘Run’.

7

Run

Create a new mesh model applied any input values with structures for the selected faces.

The thicken mesh model is created by adding subscripts such as _M0, _M1, etc. to the selected model name and displayed in the project tree.
The lattice mesh model is created by adding subscripts such as _L0, _L1, etc. to the selected model name and displayed in the project tree.
